Part two of an educational driving school series....
When driving in the rain, try to remember:
If you can not see - pull off the road.
Do not drive slowly with your hazards on.
If you do pull off the road - DO put your hazards on.
Remember hazard lights exist to alert motorists of vehicles STOPPED near or in the right of way ONLY, not that you are going slow. Everyone should be going slow - or stopped.
Remember too, that standing water can be deceptively deep.
If you really can't see across it - you can not safely gauge its' depth.
It's dangerous and sometimes fatal if you drive through unknown water after flooding.
Go around if possible.
If you must drive across, go slow and be aware of your wake.
Try not to tsunami other motorists - or worse pedestrians.
If they are walking - it probably means they didn't have much choice.
Be mindful, and courteous out there.
